Free men working in low-skill, low pay jobs do not like their employers bringing in slaves to work alongside them. This is the first such slave in this establishment, and the free men are treating it badly - it's really unfair of them as it's not the slave's fault as it has to go where its owner sends it. But, understandably perhaps, the men see that this is the thin end of the wedge: soon it will be all slaves working there, and they will be unemployed.
Being unemployed when you're unskilled is not a good position to be in these days - you still have the poll tax to pay as do all free men, and in you cannot do so the Courts will order enslavement so you can be sold to pay the government.
Shortly after this clip was taken the men calmed down a bit as one of them pointed out that if they damaged the slave, their employer's property, he could demand they pay for the damage and they could not afford it. So they decided that whilst they had the opportunity they'd use the slave for their own enjoyment, and began to rape it.
